About Gajra Marquez

Gajra Marquez was a teenager when she began Siddha Yoga practice in Mexico City in 1996, participating in weekly teen satsangs and in Shaktipat Intensives for young people. Gajra attended McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and she offered seva at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Montreal as a translator, host, and coach. In 2005 she participated in a Siddha Yoga Teacher Training Program. Currently, she serves as a host and translator in the meditation center and offers her writing skills in the SYDA Foundation.
Gajra holds a bachelor’s degree in religious studies from McGill and a master’s degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Montreal. She is currently pursuing a PhD in education at the University of Ottawa in Montreal. Gajra lives in Montreal with her husband and their three children.
