About Teresa Rubio

Teresa Rubio (1960–2020) began practicing the Siddha Yoga teachings in Mexico City in 1984. After that, during most years she would spend at least a month and sometimes six months offering seva in Shree Muktananda Ashram or Gurudev Siddha Peeth.
Teresa also served in Siddha Yoga Dham de México, where she offered seva in many oversight capacities, including as a member of the Management Committee, the Steering Committee, and the National Teachings Committee. She became a Siddha Yoga meditation teacher in 1996, a role she served in for the rest of her life. In 1996 and 1997, Teresa was the tour manager for Gurumayi Chidvilasananda’s Teachings Visits to Mexico City.
Teresa earned a BA in business administration from La Salle University in Mexico City. She was a professional artist; her abstract impressionist paintings can be seen in galleries and museums in Mexico and Europe. She lived in Mexico City with her husband, José.
