December 29, 2015
Dear all,
In just two days, we will cross the threshold into 2016! Are you ready to welcome the new year?
On January 1, we have the opportunity to take part in a sacred Siddha Yoga tradition: we will participate in A Sweet Surprise Satsang with our beloved Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, and receive her Message.
Gurumayi’s Message is the teaching that directs our sadhana throughout the entire year. As we study Gurumayi’s Message, as we practice it and actively bring it into our lives, we really do experience a transformation. Our perception of the world changes; our interactions with the people around us, and with our environments, change. We progress in our spiritual practice in subtle and profound ways.
Many Siddha Yogis have shared that this has been their experience of engaging with Gurumayi’s Message for 2015:
Turn
Inward
Meditate
Easefully
The efforts of Siddha Yogis to assimilate and implement Gurumayi’s Message has made 2015 a year of steady growth in sadhana for them—in how they meditate and also in how they value time and honor dharma. Gurumayi’s sacred words have illumined their spiritual practices and their day-to-day lives.
And so it will be this year, when we receive Gurumayi’s Message for 2016 in A Sweet Surprise Satsang! Are you excited to experience where Gurumayi’s Message for 2016 will lead us? I certainly am.
We are incredibly fortunate to receive the Message for 2016 directly from Gurumayi. The Shaivite sage Bhaskara says that the greatest boon a spiritual Master bestows is the knowledge that reveals the experience of one’s true nature—atma-svarupa. In A Sweet Surprise Satsang, Gurumayi imparts this knowledge. When we listen to Gurumayi speak, the shakti in her words kindles within us the experience of our own Self. We take in Gurumayi’s Message at the most profound level of our being. It resonates in our hearts. Truly, receiving the Message from Gurumayi is a most transformative experience.
With great delight, I invite you to participate in A Sweet Surprise satsang. Join me, in the Universal Hall on January 1. Together, let’s begin the new year by receiving Gurumayi’s Message for 2016.
Warm regards,
Swami Ishwarananda
