Bhagavan Nityananda's Punyatithi

Bade Baba’s Darshan: A Journey to the Heart

A Gallery in Celebration of Bhagavan Nityananda’s Punyatithi

Bhagavan Nityananda—Bade Baba—has merged into the universal Consciousness that pulsates through all of creation. He has become one with the Heart of all. Remembering this, we touch the Heart when we receive darshan of Bade Baba’s murti. We can also experience the great Heart when we contemplate Bade Baba’s oneness with nature.

You are invited to celebrate Bhagavan Nityananda’s Punyatithi by receiving Bade Baba’s darshan through these photographs taken at Shree Muktananda Ashram.

Just over eighteen months ago, I was fortunate to have Bhagavan Nityananda's darshan at his samadhi shrine in Ganeshpuri. At the time, I received flowers from the pujari, and these flowers have been on my puja every day since then. Because today was Bhagavan Nityananda's Punyatithi, I had the strong desire to offer these flowers to the river.

My place of work is near the River Thames in central London, and so I took the opportunity to offer these flowers to the river. As I watched the flowers float away, I felt as though I was offering the difficulties in my life to Bhagavan Nityananda's grace. Rather than worrying about how things will turn out, I had the feeling that I could be free from their outcomes. I also realized that letting go wasn't just a one-time activity, but something I need to practice every day. I went back to my work light hearted and full of joy.

I was transported to the Temple. I felt Bade Baba's presence. With great love, I remembered so many experiences of being in Bade Baba's presence—in the Temple, in my heart, in my meditations, in his pictures, in Baba's and Gurumayi's love for him, in stories about him.

Thank you, Bade Baba, for your presence in my life and for your limitless love. Thank you, for the gift of your darshan.

It was so very special to view Bade Baba's photo gallery, "A Journey to the Heart." The photos captured the events and sights of the day so elegantly and thoughtfully. I felt as if I was there in the Temple, having Bade Baba's darshan and doing pradakshina around his murti.

Many, many thanks for making Bade Baba's darshan available to Siddha Yogis around the world.

I had the great good fortune to come across these beautiful and poignant images today after meditating on Bade Baba's presence in my life. My prayer to him had been to show me how I could live a life which fully honors the value and potential of each individual, yet which never lets go of the experience of the divine in me and as me.

The photos answered my prayer in a powerful way. They showed me Bade Baba's beloved form and his beauty in nature, and explained to me that I too am a living, breathing, and loving form of the divine.

I thank my Guru for guiding me, and for answering my prayers.

What a blessing that there are places where we can see the pure magnificence and splendor of God—as a stunning rainbow, the golden sunset, colorful birds and flowers, and moonlight reflected on the water of a beautiful lake. And then, for my eyes to behold the crown jewel: Bhagavan Nityananda in all his radiance!

Thank you, Gurumayi, for allowing me to witness this awesome creation through these photographs.
