April Nature Gallery IApril Nature Gallery II April Nature Gallery III

On the Siddha Yoga path, we acknowledge the presence of the Divine in all of creation—and this divinity is revealed in myriad forms in the natural world. The beauty and wonder we find in nature can inspire us, as seekers, to recognize the beauty within us and everywhere around us.

The Nature Gallery contains photographs taken in the wondrous environs of Shree Muktananda Ashram, where Gurumayi currently resides. The Ashram is located in upstate New York, surrounded by expansive forests and rolling hills, brimming with wildlife. Take your time as you view the gallery. Allow the images to transport you to the serene stillness of the Guru’s abode, and let nature’s splendor connect you to the splendor of your own great heart.

Spring – a triumph
Life again – jubilant, abundant
The birds express it all:
What a joy to live
Colors, tenderness
Rising
We are alive
Let’s be like nature
Always beautiful, always life-affirming

I’m grateful for these photographs. Each time I look at them, I experience bursts of joy arising inside me. I start my day with a smile on my face and sweetness in my heart.

I love seeing the dog bounding across the landscape at Shree Muktananda Ashram. His love of nature is contagious! And so is his sense of freedom and joy.

I feel so grateful for the Siddha Yoga path website—for awakening me to this exuberance on the cusp of spring.

Watching the April Nature Gallery as a slideshow, I acknowledge the divine within nature—and also the divinity within symmetry, pattern, color, harmony, and balance of all kinds. As I do this, seeing these attributes in these photos of the natural world inspires great delight in me.

How the simplest lines and shadows in their beautiful stillness, punctuated by the soft, warm chipmunk simply being, stir me to feel sweet, quiet joy in observance of what is.

Viewing the Nature Gallery on the Siddha Yoga path website opens my eyes, and my being then becomes alert to nature throughout the day. Even the littlest bug becomes a wonder. As I walk in the most ordinary of neighborhoods, it ceases being ordinary and fills to the brim with God's presence.

Where I live we also have a long, cold winter so I especially appreciated seeing the many signs of the coming spring in the April Nature Gallery. I felt so encouraged to see the crocus flowers braving the April air, the robins darting about amidst last fall's dry leaves, the soft and silky catkins of the pussy willows reaching up toward the sun, and the perky blue jay with its mosaic-like feathers sitting like a sentinel on the evergreen branches.

I also took great pleasure in contemplating the photos of the great white moon, shining down over the landscape and offering a sweet and serene counterpoint to the spring's bustling energy on the ground. The visual juxtaposition reminded me of how much I benefit when I take care to counterbalance my bustling daytime activities with periods of serenity and stillness.

Last night, I couldn't sleep, so I looked at the nature gallery, and then I went outside. There was the full moon immediately above me. It was magnificent. I stood for a long time as I felt the questions from a day full of varied feelings and experiences.  I stood in awe at the beauty of the clouds passing across the face of the moon shining so benevolently upon the world, and I felt such gratitude for the love that appears in all forms of nature. Awe, beauty, calmness, guidance, love, peace, stillness—so many gifts we receive.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for showing us how to connect with you wherever we are, through nature.
