I have always loved satsang. For many years, I happily attended satsang in Siddha Yoga meditation centers and ashrams. Now that I don’t live near a center, I look for opportunities to find moments of satsang in my daily activities.

Meditation and chanting are always delicious satsang for me. And now that I have heard Gurumayi’s Message Talk, I have gotten more creative in the ways I experience satsang. I experience it when I look into someone’s eyes in the grocery store and exchange a smile, or when I sit on my patio and deeply appreciate God’s glory in the lush green of the garden and sweet song of the birds.

I try to remember that anything can become satsang if I hold onto the truth that God is the author of everything that comes into my awareness. When I am able to do this, then each action, each interaction, and each breath become satsang.

Baba’s teaching reminds me of my experience as a child when I would go every Friday with my parents for satsang at various people’s houses. We would sing the divine name, and I connected with a joy that to this day makes me smile.  As Baba says, I had "great love for satsang." Then I grew up and went to university, where I questioned my belief in God and stopped singing God’s name.

But my longing persisted and finally one day, I found myself standing in front of Gurumayi’s picture in a Siddha Yogi’s house. Gurumayi’s eyes seemed to follow me everywhere, until I went up to the picture and asked, "Why are you following me?"

Suddenly tears started flowing, incessant tears. I was having satsang with Gurumayi. I was reconnecting with the joy I had experienced as a child.

Now, I can sing again and dance and rejoice with my Guru, who is my constant guide, always beside me reminding me to keep having satsang.

I offer my heartfelt gratitude to Gurumayi and Baba.
