As the dharana guided me on this pilgrimage to “Vaikuntha—the abode of God,” I experienced the path as my entire life and the temple as my own heart. In the meadow along the path, I saw the people and situations I had encountered in my life and understood that everyone and everything had been an opportunity to apply the Siddha Yoga teachings.

Afterward, I revisited Baba’s teaching and realized that I had been given an experience of recognizing my own right attitude.

I have been working on developing inward focus and developing a regular meditation practice. I was able to use my imagination to follow this dharana today, which filled me with God’s love. I felt I was one with this love.

Then, in the middle of my meditation, my dog loudly scratched on my closed door, as she sometimes does to let me know she is ready for her morning walk. I opened the door and asked her to wait. To my surprise, after this interruption, I was able to reset and continue with meditation. I was able to reimmerse myself in the beautiful, dark-blue, velvety space within. This experience has taught me that, even when the outside world comes knocking, I can return my focus inward and regain my awareness of the Self.

This is such a beautiful quote and dharana. It reminded me of the reason that I’m on the Siddha Yoga path. I feel it has helped my heart open to the greatness that Baba and Gurumayi have revealed inside of me.

Gratitude wells up within me whenever I reflect on the incredibly good fortune that I have had to receive the Guru’s grace. No matter how many times I wander from the path, Guru’s grace always brings me back. It’s such a happy journey. I am so thankful.
