I realized from contemplating Baba’s teaching that when I speak sweet words to another person, it can support them in having positive thoughts and feelings. This is also true about speaking sweet words to myself. By doing so, I can uplift my own thoughts and feelings.

I have long strived to recognize negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. After listening to this teaching and the dharana, I have come to realize that I am the Self, beyond any thought. As I meditated, I recognized the spanda within, which I know to be my true Self.

This teaching came at a time when I was wrapped up in some emotional disquiet. As I practiced the dharana, a sense of peace and calm came over me. I recognized it as my natural, true state. Now, when negative thoughts arise, I will repeat the uplifting words of the dharana and return to that state.
