These days I have felt so much love enveloping me from Baba’s teachings on the mantra Om Namah Shivaya that my heart overflows with gratitude. I feel that an initiation into the deeper understanding of the mantra has taken place within me. Baba gave me the key to happiness because I understood that any problem I may have in my life has one solution: the conscious repetition of the mantra, which is filled with nectar and transforms everyone and everything into its true essence.
The mantra Om Namah Shivaya is my true friend, and from now on I'll repeat it together with Baba.

The mahamantra Om Namah Shivaya has been my refuge through both simple and intense times. It has become a dear friend to me.
Many years ago, when I was still new to the Siddha Yoga path, I experienced its “infinite power” for the first time. During one long meditation, my breath became rhythmic and easeful; then my mind became quieter and quieter and my body became super limber. When starting my meditation, I had needed to sit on a big cushion but once I felt this ease in my body, I no longer needed the cushion; I was completely flexible.
What happened next was so unexpected: the mantra arose within me and started to breathe me, moving through me as if it were my life force. The experience of the mantra breathing me was so liberating, bestowing upon me a visceral wisdom I will never forget.

As I read these words from Baba, profound gratitude arises from my being, stillness fills the atmosphere, and my breath settles in the Om Namah Shivaya mantra. As I inhale, as I exhale, I “always do this japa” in silence.

I love the mantra
Om Namah Shivaya with all my heart. I received this mantra when I participated in my first Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive forty years ago. At that time, I immediately experienced the mantra’s great potency.
To me, repeating
Om Namah Shivaya is like experiencing the waves of the ocean. At times these waves gently wash onto the beach, and at other times they break, with great force, against the rocks. All of this keeps occurring in an eternal, harmonious movement that I can follow into a sublime, deep silence where the great Self abides.

As I read this quote from Baba with a sense of wonder, it seemed as if I could feel the power of Lord Shiva all around me. This made me realize that Lord Shiva is so close to me that sometimes I fail to recognize his presence. But when I remind myself to be in harmony with the mantra and the breath, I am often able to remember that, in truth, I am one with Shiva.
