Breathe In the Spirit of Spring
April 4, 2026

March 4, 2026

Dear reader,

The spring season is special for people in many cultures throughout the world. Of course, to emerge from winter into the warmth and light of spring feels freeing. We are eager to step outside and take in the gift of sunlight, and we cherish the longer days. There is also a religious and spiritual significance to this transitional time; it is symbolic of the journey from darkness to light. And even though it may not be springtime for everyone right now (namely, for those of you in the Southern Hemisphere), we can all still remember, and tap into, the energy that the season evokes.

During this time of year, people celebrate the Easter holiday. On the Siddha Yoga path, our Guru, Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, has held many satsangs and Shaktipat Intensives in honor of Easter, and she has always spoken of Easter and what it signifies with immense respect. It is, among many other things, an occasion that reminds us of the power of awakening. It ushers in a sense of hope, vibrancy, and enthusiasm.

This year, in honor of Easter, a Siddha Yoga satsang will be held via live video stream on the Siddha Yoga path website. The title of the satsang is “Breathe In the Spirit of Spring.”

Date:         Saturday, April 4, 2026
Time:        10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. New York time
Location:  Siddha Yoga Universal Hall via live video stream
on the Siddha Yoga path website

Warm regards,

In preparation for this satsang, “Breathe In the Spirit of Spring,” I am offering all of my senses to the welcoming of spring. With my eyes, I take in the emerging colors of nature in the flowers, buds, and insects; my ears listen to the sounds of the rain and the wind; my hands and feet move with respect and intention across the earth; my nose smells the freshness in the air; and my mouth tastes the sweetness of the maple sap dripping from the trees. I breathe in offering gratitude for another spring, and exhale gratitude to the earth—and, always, gratitude to my Guru to whom I owe my every breath.

I am elated to see this invitation for another Siddha Yoga satsang via live video stream on the occasion of Easter. I love to see such invitations, which bring me the golden opportunity to be in the Siddha Yoga Universal Hall, to receive the teachings of my Shri Guru, to chant and meditate, and to have darshan.

I feel blessed in having a month to prepare for this satsang. I have observed that, when I am aware of a satsang well in advance, I am able to put in a focused effort to prepare myself by repeating the mantra during my meditation practice.

I am now looking forward to being in the Siddha Yoga Universal Hall once again with the global Siddha Yoga sangham.

I am filled with anticipation about having satsang in the Siddha Yoga Universal Hall at Easter.

Easter is a very popular holiday here in Switzerland, not only because of the many delicious chocolate Easter bunnies that are given as gifts, but also because the divine energy awakens and manifests itself in creative and colorful ways. Daffodils, crocuses, tulips, hyacinths, and pansies bloom everywhere in gardens and parks. It is the peak season for songbirds, such as blackbirds, song thrushes, chaffinches, and robins. And the first butterflies dance around in the air, displaying a great array of colors and spreading a mood of lightness and joy.

For me, Easter is a time full of anticipation and gratitude for God’s colorful creation.

After reading the invitation for the Siddha Yoga satsang “Breathe In the Spirit of Spring,” I felt joyful and excited. The idea of moving “from darkness to light” reminded me of the inner awakening that Gurumayi guides us toward. It filled me with hope and gratitude, and now I am eagerly awaiting the satsang via live video stream.
