After reading the experience of another Siddha Yogi hearing the soundless sound while walking in the forest, I reflected back to countless times when I have also walked in the forest and heard the gentle sounds in nature. As I listened, I experienced myself awakening from the chatter in my mind to the silence within my being. It was as if I was living in the space of flawless quietude while I walked in nature.

It is wonderful to have these opportunities to share. I find that as I do so, I wake up to my own inner reality of divine grace. For many years, I have been hearing the sound of bells. It is an amazing sound—so soothing, sweet, and comforting. As I listen, my head begins to sway with
shakti moving inside me. This has been going on for a long time now. It is such a blissful thing. Having read the shares of the Swamis, I am going to pay much more attention to this sound now.
Also, one time some years ago, I was meditating in my room and I heard a sound in my heart like that of a cello. It was extremely wondrous, though it lasted only a moment. I had forgotten about that. Reading these shares on
nada reminded me.
How many wondrous things we experience all the time, on so many levels, due to our Guru's miraculous grace! Thank you so much for reminding me to revel in the grace of my life.

I relate the experiences of inner sounds described by the Swamis to my own experiences of the love I receive from nature.
Last summer, I was walking in the midst of a forest. As I was about to cross a stream, the sound of the stream captured my awareness and I became immersed in this sound. I began to feel contentment, happiness, and quietness. By listening to nature, I was able to go inside and experience the Message Gurumayi has given us this year.

I so appreciate reading the Swamis' descriptions of experiences they had early in their
sadhana. When I see how much they treasured what they received, how they held onto it and grew from it, I want to be more diligent about doing the same.
For example, I want to be more attentive when I sit to meditate. I have also heard fascinating and beautiful sounds within during meditation. After reading Swami Shantananda's words and then rereading Baba's chapter on
nada in
Play of Consciousness, I understand that the sounds are gifts of grace, meant to lead me closer to my Self. I am excited to see what will unfold in the weeks ahead as I give closer attention to them.
