This beautiful and uplifting prayer inspires me to truly honor Mother Earth. Last night at 8:30 p.m., I turned off all the lights in my house and went outside. As I bathed in the moonlight, I read the prayer aloud, in both Sanskrit and English, then closed my eyes and sent my love to the Earth. I felt such deep gratitude and love for our blue planet and for my Guru! When I opened my eyes and looked up at the moon, I knew that my love had been received, as a love-heart and then the image of Ganesh formed in the clouds.
I have now made this prayer a part of my daily practice, as it has given me a clear vision of a respectful, peaceful, and friendly future to hold on to.

The verses from the Shukla Yajur Veda formed a backdrop against which I experienced this year’s Earth Hour. How could I not thank Mother Earth for all she has given me during these exceptional times? When all seemed so bad and I felt fear, she was there, solid and constant beneath my feet! Each fresh breath was freely given to me, icy mornings and sun-drenched days alike, reminding me of grace and of my own true Self.
I am grateful I have been given the opportunity to acknowledge it all.

These beautiful lines from the Shukla Yajur Veda feel like a blanket of peace covering all things everywhere—as it says, “all things in this universe, animate and inanimate.”
These lines contain for me everything I want to pray for and have been trying to express in my prayers. They are like a balm which calms my emotions when I focus on the challenges being faced around the world. I feel that this prayer invokes both the earth, which is suffering, and the water which softens it and allows it to be productive—and that the real water is love.
I love this prayer and wish to thank Gurumayi and the ancient ones who wrote it for this great gift.

What a sweet and gentle poem from the verses of the Shukla Yajur Veda. It inspires me to just sit with the earth tonight while participating in Earth Hour, and look upon everyone and every creature “with the eyes of a friend.”
I am grateful to Gurumayi for always guiding me to honor what is most sacred.

I love this prayer; it is so calm and nourishing for my heart. My eyes can see the trees and everything that is mentioned so clearly before me, as if I were in the middle of it. We really have much reason to be happy and thankful for living on this wonderful planet.

The words and aspirations in this divine prayer send my heart soaring. Hope for a surge of righteousness and integrity is transmitted to my soul, and my compassion is called forth. It reminds me that the power to uplift lies within each of us.

How beautiful and powerful these words are! With all that is happening on our amazing home of Planet Earth, with all of Mother Nature's intensity, to see the wording at the end of this prayer—“May we all look upon each other with the eyes of a friend”—made my heart melt.
What a simple but profound prayer to focus on and implement in my life! This prayer for me is such a blessing—pristine, loving, and healing.

Where I live, my window looks out directly onto a road that leads to Vancouver’s major international ocean port. For about fourteen hours per day, big transport trucks rattle by outside, causing an incredible din.
Tonight was a particularly busy night on the roads so I decided to visit the Siddha Yoga path website for inspiration. I was so delighted and felt so blessed to click on the posting for Earth Hour on the website. It was a precious blessing for me to read this prayer for earthly peace and stability.
