Saint Kabir (c 1440 – 1518) was an enlightened mystic and poet who worked all his life as a weaver in Varanasi, India. As an infant, Kabir was found and adopted by a Muslim couple. The story of his birth is unknown. Kabir became a devotee of the Guru Ramananda of the Hindu tradition, who showed him that God is beyond form and beyond all religions.
