Relaxing the Mind, Accepting Good Fortune: Sukha-saubhāgya

In this meditation session, you will explore the integral connections between relaxing the mind, accepting good fortune, and experiencing the Self. Through this exploration and your participation in the practices of Siddha Yoga meditation and chanting, you will deepen your study and experience of Gurumayi’s Message for 2020.

At the beginning of the Meditation Session, I was restless and unable to concentrate. When the chant began, I offered my restless thoughts to the mantra, and my mind started to relax. After the meditation, I was in peace, content to be living in the sphere of the Guru’s grace.

Participating in this series of monthly meditation sessions has evoked in me a love for meditation as never before and deepened my connection to the Self in unexpected ways.
 
Since the beginning of sheltering in place, I have meditated every evening in my home in Los Angeles. Recently, when turmoil erupted around the corner from my house, I experienced and understood the power of what I have been learning from my meditation practice. With helicopters hovering overhead and police sirens piercing the air, I continued meditating. I could hear the noise, yet inside myself I was serene.
 
The meditation sessions have taught me how to find shelter in the quiet place within, no matter what is happening around me.

As I participated in this Meditation Session, I experienced a change in perspective in relation to a challenging issue at work. I could see the situation more objectively and understand the reason why it was occurring. My angst released. Waves of tranquility and peace radiated through me, and I went into a deep and peaceful meditation.

I’m grateful for these transformative Meditation Sessions and for the Guru’s grace and teachings that guide and support them.

In this fourth meditation session, as I applied the guidance given, the thought-traffic in my mind calmed, and I experienced a tranquil, deep, and serene state of the Self. A golden column of light appeared in my spinal column, and I saw the symbol AUM rise from the base of my spine to the crown of my head.
