Contentment in the Mind, Steadiness in the Heart: Sukhāsana

In this Meditation Session, you will continue your study of Gurumayi’s Message for 2020 by exploring ways to assume an easeful approach to meditation. You will practice leading the mind to contentment, allowing access to the innate steadiness in the Heart and an easeful inner posture. You will experience the support of this posture as we chant the mantra Om Namah Shivaya and meditate.

I remembered the title of this Meditation Session—Contentment in the Mind, Steadiness in the Heart: Sukhasana—while I was attending a funeral service for a family member. As I focused on my breath and the vibration and rhythm of the mantra within, my mind easefully rested in my heart, and I was at peace. As my mind and body relaxed, I experienced strength and steadiness. I felt a knot in my heart dissolve, and I was able to feel love for one of my relatives for the first time in many years.

While participating in Meditation Session VII, “Contentment in the Mind, Steadiness in the Heart: Sukhasana,” I heard Gurumayi's voice within me, saying, "Within you is a blue flame of love. Know that is who you are." Years ago, I had heard this within when meditating in Gurudev Siddha Peeth.
