This beautiful image of the rising sun with Gurumayi's teaching in
sukta 2 held new meaning for me this morning as I was reciting
Shri Guru Gita. I was flooded with gratitude when I came upon verse 61 in
The Nectar of Chanting referring to “the intellect, which shines like a flame." In that moment I saw that there is no difference between my own intellect and the sun of Consciousness.

This teaching reminds me of the importance of reflecting before I act. Before engaging in a situation, I explore its aspects. I use criteria and try to make beneficial choices. I use my intellect like a steering wheel to turn my thoughts toward benevolence, love, and practical sensibility. As I use it, my intellect becomes sharper and gives me great joy.

Seeing Gurumayi's statement as a command reminds me that my intellect is there to help me to make the wise choice, to discern the real from the unreal, to turn towards integrity and Truth. I am becoming more and more grateful to my own intellect for the gifts it can bestow.

After I read the Divya Sukta teaching about turning on my intellect, I looked up the definition of the Sanskrit word for intellect,
buddhi, and found “that which is able to discern truth from falsehood and thereby make wisdom possible.”
For me, Gurumayi’s teaching encourages me to use my intellect rather than let my emotions dictate my actions.

When I read the words “
Turn on your Intellect" and saw the beautiful picture of the sunrise, I felt a current of energy in my body. I closed my eyes and watched as the energy moved through my whole body for about five minutes.
This grace-filled experience of Gurumayi's teaching inspires me to study this teaching on the intellect more closely.

How beautiful this teaching is! Intellect leads me to the wisdom that guides me to make the right choices in life. As I have been following the Siddha Yoga path, a remarkable change has happened. I have become able to use my intellect to choose thoughts, beliefs and actions that uplift me. Now I am experiencing calmness, happiness, and harmony.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for all you have given me.

This is such a beautiful and uplifting teaching. It inspires me to reflect and to aspire to a divine mind.
I was also delighted to see this wonderful picture of a sunrise. I have just begun to put renewed effort into my practice of
Surya Namaskar. Before I begin, I visualize the sun rising and filling me with warmth and love.

These words of Gurumayi remind me that I have intelligence, clarity, and the practical know-how I need to successfully meet each situation that arises in my life. As I apply Gurumayi's words in my life, I am able to tap into the inner and outer resources I need to be a strong, effective, heart-centered presence in this world.
Thank you for these empowering words, Gurumayi.

I immediately laughed when I read this! It’s like turning the light on as we do when entering a dark room.
This teaching is so uplifting, and will deepen my efforts toward inward-facing contemplation.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for yet another grace-filled insight.
