Divya Sukta
Effortless Effort

In the Sanskrit language, divya means divine and sukta refers to a statement that illumines the highest Truth. Divya Sukta: Teachings about the Divine.
This teaching lights me up. It reminds me how good my mind and intellect are. I see that I just have to remember this while performing all the small actions of my day-to-day life.

It’s very important to me how I apply Gurumayi’s teachings in my everyday life. This Divya Sukta gives me such a strong teaching: “Demonstrate your intelligence and good heart…” Yes! And I get so many opportunities every day to show that I do care—by lending a helping hand, sympathizing with others, smiling more often.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for showing me these simple steps to take.

I am so grateful for the Divya Suktas! They have had the effect of clearing negativities from my mind during a difficult time at work. As I contemplated them throughout the day, they brought me back to my heart—and suddenly, I discovered joy once again!

I feel as if my mind has been refreshed by this wisdom. I will make it an essential part of my attitude toward anything I do.

I’m very grateful for Gurumayi’s words. They remind me that I don’t need to have all the answers or create a big splash to make an uplifting difference in someone’s life. Just showing I care makes people feel loved, and that makes me feel loved too.

I so appreciate these words from Gurumayi reminding me that I do have a good intellect and a great heart and that it is up to me to use them! I find it so helpful that she says to demonstrate them “in the little things you do.” This makes me see that it is in the moment-to-moment thoughts and actions of each day that I apply her teaching— as I interact with my children, as I take care of our family finances, as I welcome a guest. To me, each of these "little things" adds up to a very sweet, joyful life!
