As I read Gurumayi’s words, I got really excited because I sensed they would support my intention to be fully in the present moment.
I thought of all the times during the day that I could apply this teaching—immediately upon waking, at the beginning of my meditation, when I pause between activities, and when entering a challenging situation. I also realized that I can apply Gurumayi’s words to daily activities as well as to larger life goals and responsibilities.
It could be as simple as smiling, humming a tune, taking deep breaths, watching the ripple of water on the lake outside my house, and, most importantly, remembering the Guru.
This practice of continual renewal will deepen my ability to bring the purity of the moment into everything I do.
