This share is incredible to me! It resonates with my own experience of having an invisible bond with my Guru—one that is beyond all physical parameters.
Even though thousands of miles separate me from Gurumayi ji, I always feel her presence—in my meditations and prayers, as well as in moments when I face a disturbing situation. Her benign presence washes away my bitterness and fears and fills me with serene courage and bliss.

What an amazing experience is described here! When I read it, I felt that this experience was also given to me—I felt the merging, the gratitude, and the love for Gurumayi.

I too “thank God for giving me my Guru.” Here’s one reason:
Recently I visited my father in a care home. We’d had a really difficult relationship all my life, but being on the Siddha Yoga path has taught me how important it is to make peace and to forgive. I felt pain and fear before visiting, so I prayed for the Guru’s support.
Because of his illness, my father didn’t recognize me. But after a while we started talking—about some of his saddest moments and his happiest moments. The more he opened up, the more my own heart did too; I felt connected with Gurumayi and centered in my heart.
As I said goodbye, I could feel the grace. I could see love rising up inside him, lighting up his face and connecting us. He took my hands, saying, “Your face—I know your face.” Then I was able to leave.
The grace of the Guru empowered me to face this difficult situation with courage—and to forgive. The grace of the Guru burned away deep old pain, and transformed grief into love. The wisdom of the Guru is so much beyond our limited knowledge.

As my head touches my pillow at bedtime every night, I always have a short conversation with Gurumayi. I thank her for all that has happened during the day and express my tender love for her as I fall asleep. And now that I have read this beautiful poem “Thanking God,” I will begin my day reciting that poem—and thereby completing the full circle of my love for Gurumayi.

This poem is so beautiful. I resonate with the image of the sky opening; for me this symbolizes inspiration. I too thank God that Gurumayi is my Guru, my guide, my Master! She teaches me how to nourish this connection with the sky.
