When I read this teaching—“Conscientiousness about time”—it gave me two types of understanding. One is that I have to be aware of time and spend it wisely, value it. The second understanding is that time also cares about me. Time gives me the opportunity to utilize it fully. Time is available for me, and it’s my choice whether to make my day special. I also realized that this is a matter of giving and receiving. What I am giving to time—or to my Self—will come back to me in turn.

Today’s teaching, “Conscientiousness about time,” awakens me from my habit of spending a lot of time in my bitter experiences and, thus, losing present time unconsciously. Now, I've committed myself to using present time conscientiously—and consciously.

Teaching 10 has helped me to realize how important it is to stay fully present in each moment. After reading it, I noticed throughout the day how easily my mind would jump ahead to the next task or linger on the past. But whenever I reminded myself of teaching 10, I was able to pause, take a deep breath, and bring my attention back to the present.
One moment stood out in particular: while completing a college project, I felt rushed and distracted. Then I remembered teaching 10, and I slowed down and became aware of the time and how I was spending it. This small act made the task feel purposeful and even peaceful.
This teaching has shown me that being fully aware of how I spend each moment helps me feel calmer, more focused, and also more connected to Gurumayi ji’s Message for 2025.

This is the time to know God.
O my mind,
Be in the time that is flowing, this very day, now.
Be with the time, be happy.
Remember God all the time
Be immersed in God’s love.
Feel the peacefulness of the Self.
Listen to the
nada Om that is moving along with your breath.
Look into the depth of your heart.
Feel this glimpse that is flowing so peacefully.
This is the time.
Know it.
a Gurukula student in Gurudev Siddha Peeth
Through the wisdom imparted by Gurumayi, I am reminded of the profoundly significant role that time plays in my life. As a Siddha Yoga student, I can acknowledge the importance of “conscientiousness about time.” It speaks of a principle that touches my very core.
I work as a lawyer, and in my profession, I strive to serve my clients with diligence. But I often struggle with managing time effectively. These teachings offer me the much-needed guidance to realign my priorities, stay present in each moment, and honor the gift of time with mindfulness. I pray earnestly to my Guru for her divine grace to help me fully understand and absorb these teachings so that I can integrate them into my practice, my work, and my personal life. May I become more conscious of time and use it wisely to grow closer to my true Self.

Each teaching of “In the Presence of Time” builds on my understanding of the preceding teachings from Gurumayi. I looked up the definition of the adjective conscientious, which said, “thorough, careful, or vigilant in one’s task performance.”
As Eesha’s introduction to these teachings reminds us, Gurumayi’s Message for 2025 uses the phrase your time twice within the six words Gurumayi chose to express her Message. To me the pronoun your implies that I must take ownership and responsibility for “my” time. This in turn implies being intentional with how I live in time (“thorough”), being conscious of what I want to achieve in time (“careful or vigilant”) so that I can experience this one precious life I have the way the great liberated beings know it can be—in peace and harmony, thereby bringing peace and harmony to the world.
