I participated in the Shaktipat Intensive in the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Melbourne. It was a bright, blue-skied day. The rose bushes around the
murtis of Bade Baba and the Siddhas in the courtyard were in full bloom.
During the Intensive I took the instructions of the Intensive teacher to heart, and when it came time for meditation, I followed them with reverence. I experienced that I was flying high, close to a snow-covered mountain range. As my flight gradually slowed down, I drew close to the mountain face and I saw that the snow was actually sparkling energy. Soon I found myself soaring over a green valley and large lakes.
When I came out of meditation, I wondered where I had been and what it meant. Then I realized I had been flying over sacred Mount Kailash! I was amazed. Since the start of the year, I have wanted to find a way to visit Mount Kailash, but when I learned about the difficulties involved, I was left simply with a wish: if only I could make the pilgrimage to sacred Mount Kailash.
And here I was, making a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in meditation!

Since returning to the US two months ago, I have undergone a transformative shift in my approach to my physical well-being. Prompted by some recent health struggles in my family, I have adopted a more mindful approach to nutrition and increased my exercise frequency. I have began to respect my body, and have started the practice of looking at myself in the mirror with love and compassion.
The focus of the upcoming Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive, “The body is the temple of the Self,” speaks directly to my current experience and aligns with my recent awakening to the importance of nurturing my physical well-being. I feel that this teaching is precisely what I, and my family, need to explore at this moment—a powerful reminder to honor our bodies as sacred vessels.

Wow! The Siddha Yoga Shaktipat Intensive 2024 is the golden anniversary of the first Shaktipat Intensive that Baba Muktananda held in 1974! Every Intensive that I have ever participated in brings something profound and filled with grace into my life. Last year it was chanting
Om Namah Shivaya with Gurumayi, which led to a still, deep meditation like those I have experienced at Gurudev Siddha Peeth. This is not something I can will to happen; it only happens through the Guru’s grace!
I am also looking forward to Swami Ishwarananda being the Siddha Yoga meditation teacher for the Intensive. Swami ji extracts experiences from everyday life and crystallizes each experience into a simple and beautiful teaching that leads me forward in my
sadhana.
I am deeply grateful to Gurumayi for the Shaktipat Intensive!
