Dear Siddha Yogis,
On Saturday, April 19, the Siddha Yoga Chanting Tour: Australia 2014—Satyam Shivam Sundaram culminated with the Global Live Audio Stream Satsang, entitled Chanting Creates a Paradise in this World. It was an ecstatic celebration of the glory of Siddha Yoga chanting.
As the teachers for the Chanting Tour, we were delighted to see how fully Siddha Yogis and new seekers gave of themselves in the various satsangs, attentively receiving and putting into practice what we taught. Participants have shared with us how they have learned to focus their awareness as they chant, and they have also shared how they are experiencing the heart-opening power of this practice by applying what they learned.
Throughout the tour, Gurumayi’s teachings on chanting guided every aspect of study and practice. Participants were constantly reminded of the goal of chanting—the experience of the supreme Self. Every refinement, every exercise we gave, was designed to lead participants to this inner attainment.
Now that Siddha Yogis and new seekers around the world have had the opportunity to receive these teachings on chanting, it is time to carry these learnings forward. There is self-effort required to continue to chant with discipline, resonance, and an awareness of the fullness and beauty of the sounds. This discipline brings one’s awareness to the power in the vibrations of the mantras they are chanting.
Chanting is a joyous practice. We encourage everyone to keep chanting—on your own, with your family members, with other Siddha Yogis. And when you do, remember what you have learned. Remember the effect of preparing the body and the voice for chanting. Remember that as you chant, you can honor each syllable, chanting with great beauty. Remember to listen with intent to the music, and also to the silence that surrounds the chant.
The benefits of the Chanting Tour will certainly continue to unfold. We trust that all of you who participated in the Chanting Tour will continue to study, practice, assimilate, and implement what you have learned. Doing so will fortify your sadhana, and your chanting will continue to purify the atmosphere around you, wherever you are.
In addition, young seekers who participated in and offered seva for the Chanting Tour have been inspired by Siddha Yoga music. Many of them will develop into fine Siddha Yoga musicians in the coming years. Siddha Yoga music will continue to flourish, bringing greater and greater joy to the world.
As the chanting tour concludes, we want to thank Gurumayi. Gurumayi’s powerful intention was a continuous inspiration, and her blessings and guidance were the heart of every satsang. We offer pranams to Gurumayi, and our deepest gratitude.
Best regards,
