Following are additional steps to support your participation.

Preparing Your Space

  • Set up your screen to allow for easeful viewing from both a sitting and standing position.
  • Plan to participate in a space that is large enough to do the following:
    • Sit (either on the floor or in a chair)
    • Stand
    • Stretch your arms out to your sides and overhead
    • Lie on your back on the floor with your knees bent 
  • If you’ll be sitting in a chair, choose one that is stationary (not one that rolls) and, if possible, one that does not have armrests. 
  • Have a few firm cushions or blankets available to support your sitting posture.
    • Whether you’re planning to sit in a chair or on the floor, you may wish to sit on a cushion or folded blanket(s) so that your hips are level with or slightly higher than your knees.
    • You may also wish to place a blanket or cushion between your back and the back of the chair for added support.

Preparing Your Body

  • Refrain from eating a heavy meal before the workshop. 
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.
  • Bare feet are recommended.
    • If you wear socks, ensure that the surface you’re standing on is not slippery.
