I participated in Meditation Session IX at the Siddha Yoga Meditation Center in Milan. In the days following the session, my intention was to focus on my personal effort and on giving myself to the practices.
A few days later, I was asked to be part of a work experience that I felt would take me out of my comfort zone. I was afraid to accept. Then I realized that a grace-filled opportunity was being given to me, a way to practice what I had learned during the meditation session. So I accepted the challenge. I was able to carry out the work with ease as I offered it to my Guru. And I enjoyed this new experience.
I’m grateful to Gurumayi for her love, her presence, and her grace in my daily life.

One night this week I couldn’t sleep because it was so hot, and I was nervous about a project I had to present the following day. So I opened the Siddha Yoga path website and began to participate in this meditation session.
Following the meditation instructions, I quickly found myself in a space filled with waves of blissful energy, like the waves of the sea, but made up of airy clouds. I enjoyed the way they swirled in my consciousness. They cooled me down and calmed my mind. After the session I was able to fall asleep and felt present and energetic the following day.
It’s remarkable to have the Siddha Yoga practices come to me via cyberspace so immediately, and always timed so perfectly!
Thank you, Gurumayi, for this extraordinary gift.

Each of these meditation sessions has been a dynamic catalyst for grace to aid me in entering the space of the
madhya. As this ninth session began, I felt as though the
shakti flowed right out from the computer screen, enveloping me in a blanket of warmth, as a warm breeze might surround me on a summer day. My awareness was drawn inward, powerfully and instantaneously, to a deep place where pulses of blue ovals moved inward and calm and stillness prevailed.
A poem formed in my mind in honor of these meditation sessions:
The
madhya is
AUM.
The
madhya is all.
The
madhya is the Guru.
The
madhya is accessible.
Through grace and compassion,
Shri Gurumayi allows us to enter the
madhya,
the source of our own bliss and consciousness within.
This is the greatest gift.

With each Meditation Session, I experience a new depth of stillness and peace. I find that the presence of this inner "ocean of calm" lingers longer with each successive session and this experience inspires me to dive deeper into my solo practice of daily meditation. It's so powerful to meditate with the global
sangham in the Universal Hall, and then to be able to return to the session again and again via the Siddha Yoga website at home.
Living in California as I do, I feel as if these Meditation Sessions are teaching me to "surf," so to speak—since they are helping me learn to steady myself on my "surfboard" and ride the waves of daily life on my own.
