When I listen to the hymn
Sarasvati Chalisa and tune into its beautiful energy, I have a cozy feeling, and the energy of peace arises in me. As gentle and soft as this energy is, it is also very strong and all-pervasive for me.
I love beauty. Often, when I go for a walk in the forest, I simply stand still and quietly contemplate the majesty of what I see. I observe the colors of the leaves, the structures of the tree trunks, the clouds in the sky, the busy ants, the chirping birds—simply everything that reveals itself to my perception in that moment. For me, the beauty of nature
is Shri Sarasvati. With great love and devotion, I bow to Goddess Sarasvati, who reveals the beauty of nature to me and helps me to creatively express this beauty in my own way.

I recently listened to the
Sarasvati Chalisa for the very first time. After hearing it just once, an eager desire arose in my heart to listen to this hymn again and again. In fact, on this occasion, I listened to the
Sarasvati Chalisa five times in a row. While doing this, my heart was overflowing with devotion for the Goddess Sarasvati. I felt so moved, and I experienced that she was purifying my heart.
I am now inspired to keep on invoking the grace of Goddess Sarasvati, so that I can be filled with longing to worship God for the rest of my life.

I have been singing to and meditating upon the Goddess Sarasvati these past months. I am currently writing a book and a play, and I feel my endeavors are being guided by her grace and presence. This leaves me humbled and filled with gratitude for the Siddhas and their presence in my life.

I’ve always associated Shri Mahasarasvati with gentleness. Today I sought her special blessing for my endeavor to sharpen my intellect. As I listened to this hymn again, I discovered there is untold strength, power, and love in the blessing of Mother Sarasvati.

On the auspicious day of Vasant Panchami, my mother urged me to visit the Siddha Yoga path website and listen to the
Sarasvati Chalisa. I had never heard this hymn before and I thought I would simply listen to it while I did household chores.
However, as soon as I heard the beginning of the hymn, I felt so drawn to read each of its verses that I couldn’t move from my chair. I was spellbound by the power of every
shloka, every verse. I experienced such love and joy flowing from within. If listening to the
Sarasvati Chalisa only one time had such an effect, I look forward to listening again and again!

I like to listen to this
Chalisa first thing in the morning, and I listen to it again and again throughout the day. I experience an alchemy in the melody of the chant and the singer’s voice. During the day, the chant repeats inside me, and I feel love and devotion toward the goddess Sarasvati. I pray that the whole world also feels that love and understands the importance of
matrika shakti and abides in inner peace.

I turned to the
Sarasvati Chalisa at a time I needed help for my job, which requires language skills. At first I intended only to recite the
Sarasvati Gayatri mantra. But then I decided to read the
Sarasvati Chalisa prayer in English without listening to it being sung.
I began reading the text very slowly in order to understand the meaning of each verse. The more I read, the more the words expressed my exact feeling, and finally they became my own prayer. After reading the prayer, I felt very peaceful.
A few days later, I decided to read the text again carefully and to listen to the hymn being sung at the same time. As I did so, love rose from my heart and I cried gently. Everything suddenly became soft.

This morning I listened to the
Sarasvati Chalisa with utter focus before my meditation. As I did this, I felt Gurumayi’s love come through every note and syllable. I felt I was imbibing the strength that she blesses us with! My heart opened, and I experienced sweetness and love in my longing.
I was savoring this sweetness with my eyes closed when my six-year-old came and sat on my lap. I embraced him in the outpouring of love I was feeling. Then we both sat in silence for a long time enveloped in this love.

I am so grateful for this beautiful hymn. It touched my heart deeply at a moment when I was feeling very fragile and longing to feel more love for myself.
This heartfelt rendition of the hymn was like a soothing balm; it captured my mind and reconnected me to my heart, to my longing—to something bigger than my individual self. I went back to it several times today.
Listening to it, I felt the compassion of the Devi. I felt thought of; I felt loved. I felt that I am OK as I am.
